Logo usage

Our institution’s brand is the total experience we create for our
students, faculty, parents, alumni and our community. From the way we interact with our students to answering the phones, the exhibitions we host to recruiting new students, our brand is based on everything our institution touches.

The CCAD logo

The CCAD logo is the most recognizable symbol of our brand and is possibly the most important element in unifying the CCAD brand. It should be viewed as a sacred mark and treated with respect.

Size and placement

The logo should never be used smaller than 3/8 (.375) inch. This measurement should be made at the height of the stoveburner. There is a special version of the logo that is used specifically for applications smaller than ½ (.5) inch.

Colors

The logo may be used in one of four color combinations:

  • Stoveburner: PMS 186 (100%); Type: Black
  • Stoveburner: PMS 186 (100%); Type: White
  • Stoveburner: Black (100%); Type: Black (100%)
  • Stoveburner: White; Type: White

Letterhead usage

Font

  • Use Times New Roman. Use Palatino if Times New Roman is not an option.
  • The preferred font size is 11 point.

Spacing/alignment

  • Body text should be flush left, ragged right (not justified).
  • Use “block style” paragraphs without indenting the first line.
  • Use one line space
  • Double space (or two hard returns) between paragraphs.

Margins

  • Top: 1.5 inches
  • Bottom: no less than 2.25 inches
  • Left: 1 inch
  • Right: 1 inch

Paper

  • Request CCAD stationery from your department director or chairperson.
  • If you have more than a one-page letter, second sheets are available in the general office in the Administration Building.

Dates

  • In formal letters, write out the complete date (i.e., December 1, 2006), without using abbreviations.
  • Envelope margins
  • Top: 1.75 inches
  • Left: 3.375 inches
